Worcester County Sheriff's Office Achieves National Accreditation Print E-mail

West Boylston – Flanked by various state officials and fellow Sheriffs, Worcester County Sheriff Guy Glodis was today awarded Accreditation by the American Correctional Association in a ceremony held at the Worcester County Jail and House of Correction.  The Sheriff was joined at the presentation by Chairman Maureen Walsh of the MA Parole Board, Undersecretary of Public Safety Mary Beth Heffernan, Essex County Sheriff Frank Cousins, Jr., and Hampshire County Sheriff Robert Garvey.

Sheriff Delivers Turkey Dinners to Low-Income Seniors Print E-mail
Worcester County Sheriff Guy Glodis visited the Fitchburg, Leominster and Gardner Senior Centers on Tuesday, December 18th, to hand out 12 lb. frozen turkeys and dessert pies to low-income senior citizens, part of the Sheriff's Northern Worcester County Christmas Donation Program.

Sheriff Glodis Receives Prestigious Criminal Justice Award Print E-mail
West Boylston – Citing Sheriff Glodis’ commitment to corrections reform and innovation, through the introduction of over 15 new programs at the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, the New England Council on Crime and Delinquency presented the 2007 John R. Manson – Carl Robinson Award to Sheriff Guy Glodis yesterday during ceremonies held in North Conway, NH.  This award honors an individual who has made a significant contribution to the field of criminal justice within the New England area.

Sheriff's Department K-9 Unit Wins Top Honors Print E-mail

West Boylston – Highlighting the professionalism and skill of the recently expanded K-9 unit at the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Guy Glodis today announced top honors for “Rusty”, a 4 ½ year old Chocolate Labrador and his handler, Lt. Mark Kent, at the U.S. Police K-9 Association Region 9 (New England) competition.  Over 60 narcotics detection dogs participated in the event, representing public safety agencies from every state in New England.
