Dudley - The Boys and Girls Club of Webster-Dudley's Teen Program welcomed the Worcester County Sheriff's Department Thursday, March 29th to lead a roundtable discussion on the dangers of incarceration. "This program is part of our overall effort to be more proactive in the community, to focus our efforts where they are needed most, on today's youth," Sheriff Glodis stated. "By showing teenagers the realities of life behind bars, we're hopefully giving them some insight that will help guide them in their daily lives." Mike Landgren, from the Sheriff's Webster office, along with Michelle Dibenedetto, Sarah-Jane Belinskas and Meaghan Rafferty, all from the Sheriff's Civil Process Office, came to speak to the teen members about what it is like to be in jail. Mr. Landgren also shared a documentary he filmed about the inmates in prison. Approximately 20 teenagers attended the event. This was the first of many future collaborations between Sheriff Glodis and the Boys and Girls Club of Webster-Dudley. |
