Worcester County Sheriff Guy Glodis visited the Fitchburg, Leominster and Gardner Senior Centers on Tuesday, December 18th, to hand out 12 lb. frozen turkeys and dessert pies to low-income senior citizens, part of the Sheriff's Northern Worcester County Christmas Donation Program.
In all, more than 230 turkeys were distributed. Table Talk pies in Worcester likewise generously donated 240 8" pies. “This program was designed to help redefine the Sheriff’s Department as a more community-oriented, civic minded agency,” Sheriff Glodis stated. “It’s our way of giving back to those who are less fortunate during the holidays.”
The donation was made possible by Sheriff Glodis' Reserve Deputy Sheriff's Assocation, a non-profit 501(c)(3) charitable organization. This is the third year the Sheriff has delivered christmas dinners to senior citizens in the area.
