I believe the path towards inmate rehabilitation begins and ends with hard work, and the Community Service Program is a great tool in accomplishing that goal.  We currently have six inmate work crews that must meet strict criteria for eligibility, including: conviction of a non-violent offense, a spotless record while incarcerated, and within the last six months of their sentence.  These inmates spend 7-8 hours per day on projects ranging from landscaping, construction, and painting to snow and ice removal, and debris cleanup.  By having inmates participate in hands-on vocational work, we equip them with the skills to become productive members of their community.  Equally as important, since local municipalities pay only for the materials, we save taxpayers thousands of dollars in labor costs.  For more information, please click on your town below and see what projects we’ve been doing in your town!
