GLODIS SWORN IN AS SHERIFF OF WORCESTER COUNTY

Worceste
r – In a private ceremony in front of 150 family members and close friends, former Senator Guy W. Glodis took the oath of office to become Worcester County Sheriff on Wednesday, January 5th.  Joined by his wife, Tina, Sheriff Glodis was administered the oath by Attorney General Thomas Reilly.

Addressing the crowd in his first speech as Sheriff, Mr. Glodis focused on the opportunities that lie ahead:  “The voters of Worcester County have entrusted me with their faith to bring true reform to the Sheriff’s Department, and that’s what I intend to do.  I’ve always enjoyed the challenge more than the victory, the struggle more than the triumph.  This will no doubt be the greatest challenge of my political career, and I am eager to get started.”

The ceremony was held at the Presidential Museum in Worcester, hosted by Mr. Frank Carroll, President of the Small Business Service Bureau.  Honored guests included Sheriff Glodis’ parents, Bill and Pat Glodis, Bishop Robert McManus, who offered a prayer to open the ceremony, and a number of local legislators.
