SHERIFF’S OFFICE ASSISTS TASK FORCE VOWS CONTINUED PARTNERSHIP WITH LOCAL POLICE West Boylston – In the wake of the largest single cocaine bust in Gardner’s history, Sheriff Guy Glodis today highlighted the partnership between the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office and the Northern Worcester County Drug Task Force in apprehending the two suspects. “The success of this case leads to one resounding conclusion: that the partnership between local police departments and the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office can be one of our most effective public safety tools,” Sheriff Glodis stated. “By sharing all of our available information and resources, we took a substantial amount of guns and drugs off the streets.” At the request of the Northern Worcester County Drug Task Force, Sheriff’s Office deputies conducted intelligence and surveillance duties in preparation for the arrests. The Northern Worcester County Drug Task Force consists of detectives from Fitchburg, Clinton, Gardner, Hubbardston, Leominster, Lunenburg, Westminster, and the Worcester County District Attorney’s office. The Worcester County Sheriff’s Office has already established partnerships with the Central MA Law Enforcement Council (CEMLEC) and the Central MA Regional Drug and Counter Crime Task Force. Sheriff Glodis continued: “What we’ve built is a regional approach to regional problems, pooling our assets rather than competing with one another. The Task Force is built upon cooperation and mutual aid; armed with that we can accomplish great things.” |
