Athol, Gardner - Working in a partnership with local senior citizen advocates, Sheriff Guy Glodis completed a day-long turkey donation in Athol and Gardner on Monday, December 19th.  The 150 turkeys were donated by the Reserve Deputy Sheriff's Association and distributed by the Worcester County Sheriff's Department.

"We're simply trying to do our small part to give the people of Athol and Gardner a brighter Christmas," Sheriff Glodis stated.  "I want people to know that we're much more than just a jail; we're working to become a more community-oriented public safety agency."  Image

In Gardner, Sheriff Glodis was joined by former State Representative Brian Knuuttila to help pass out over 100 frozen turkeys.  Mr. Dan Novak, Director of the Gardner Senior Center, and Pat Jandris, Director of the Gardner Community Action Committee also helped coordinate the event.

Sheriff Glodis highlighted the hard work that local officials from both Gardner and Athol do on behalf of seniors: "One of our responsibilties at the Sheriff's Department is to give local leaders the resources they need to help their constituents.  I'm proud to play a role in making that goal possible."
