ShrewsburyHighlighting many of the new senior citizen safety programs at the Worcester County Sheriff’s Office, Sheriff Guy Glodis addressed the Friends of the Shrewsbury Senior Center on Tuesday afternoon.  The Sheriff was joined by more than 60 local seniors for the event.

Image“We’ve been working hard since day one to provide the seniors of Worcester County with new reforms and programs that reflect their individual concerns,” Sheriff Glodis stated.  “They are our greatest generation, and we remain committed to their health and safety.”

Sheriff Glodis outlined many of the new programs started in the last 12 months, including the establishment of new TRIAD/SALT (Seniors And Lawmen Together) senior citizen safety groups throughout the county.  Through the various SALT Councils, the Sheriff has spearheaded the Are You Ok? Program, Beacon of Light, Elder Abuse Awareness, Identity Fraud Workshops, and File for Life. Image

The Sheriff continued: “Our goal at the Sheriff’s Department is simple: to offer seniors the information, tools and resources they need to stay safe.  By investing in these programs, we are investing in our fellow citizens.”

The event was organized by Ms. Madeline Gentile, and provided participants with the opportunity to speak one-on-one with the Sheriff.
